Hot swapping usb drive

Hello

I am new to this forum and to the WD mycloud drive. I want to attach my Samsung D3 external hard drive and want to know if it can simply be disconnected anytime or must I disconnect (unplug) the WD drive first.

Sorry if this is a basic question but I am only a novice at this.

You need to EJECT it first from the dashboard or UI before you disconnect it.

No need to unplug the My Cloud.
