High Airflow Temperature on a WD2500KS-00MJB0

I have an old 250GB sata drive WD2500KS-00MJB0 from 2005.

I powered this drive up from cold in a drive dock and it reports 44C at idle. After running an extended test in Data Lifeguard (which took about 75 minutes) it was at 59C. Much hotter than any other drive in my collection. 59C was hot enough that Win7 displayed a temperature warning about it.

A quick web search mentions that this drive may contain a buggy firmware that incorrectly reports the Airflow Temperature. Does anyone know if that is true?

HD Tune Pro fails the Airflow Temperature. It passed the extended SMART test.

install hard disk sentinel and see the status please

the drive seems fine for me
