We encountered a problem with intialization of HE10 HDD on ADAPTEC 5805Z controller.
At first, the controller’s kernel does’t load while HDD is in the RAID. You should remove drive and let kernel to load and then put it back.
Secondly, the rescan process takes more than 20 minutes and some times finishes without recognition the drive and sometimes it recognized.
Thirdly, in case it has been recoginized by the controller it is shown like 1,1TB drive.
The 5805Z has the latest firmware and supports HE8.
