I had a My Passport that I was using for my Mac OS X and it was working just fine but now it doesn’t want to work. I plugged it into my Windows XP and even Windows doesn’t see it. I had all of my work on it and photos. Is there any way to get it fixed?
Do the standard troubleshooting: check that you’re not using a cable more than 18" in length, change out the cable for a new one, get a power booster cable, make sure the drive is spinning (you should feel a vibration). Also, check in Windows Disk Management to see if the drive shows up. It might have a corrupted partition. If so, you’re looking at data recovery. Or the least, repartition and reformat.
Oh and make sure to connect it directly to the computer.
