Help with Share Mapping

Need help with mapping shares on the MBL Duo 6tb.

I have a static IP at home. At present I can access the shares within my home network and also thru wd2go web-site. What I would like to do it, connect directly to my shares outside of my home network without going thru the wd2go site.

Since I have a static IP, I am guessing this should be possible - just don’t know how to go about doing it.

I should add that at the moment, the NAS is not set-up using a static IP with a port forwarding done on the router. I can access the Dashboard using the IP and the port 1024 within my own network.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

The only drawback that I find doing the drive maping with WD2go is that you need to re-map the drive every time the computer is restarted.  There is a lot of information in Internet regarding how to remotely map a drive, but most of them refers to Windows servers.
