Got this from an old computer at a garage sale, 160gb, largest drive i have ever held.
Squeaks when moved, reads but doesn’t get recognized in the bios.
Can you help me with this? Really want to use this!

Is your drive a WD1600AAJS, and is this your PCB?

If so, then AIUI your drive is a member of the “Tornado” family. This family is afflicted with an MCU fault that mimicks head or media problems.
Alternatively, it could be that your motherboard cannot support a SATA speed of 3Gbps, in which case you could try installing the drive’s OPT1 jumper.
