Help: web admin no longer work (in China)

[updated] Now, samba share doesn’t work…dlna appears to be working…I didn’t do anything other then reading the logs from ssh session.

[original]

Hello, I have a WD MyCloud 4TB. I have configured it and enabled ssh when I was in US. Then I moved it from US to China. Now, when I turn it on, the web admin doesn’t work. I can still see the share folders from my windows. The dlna doesn’t work.

When I ssh in, I was able to “curl taobao.com” and it returns the html content. When I do “curl http://localhost”, it would hang…I have to break.

Now, what else must I do to have my admin back? Should I reset the device? Is it the china firewall the preventing the device from working? I guess I don’t need the cloud aspect if that’s the issue. Is there any command/log I can check to see what’s wrong?

here’s the apache2 log:

Hi and welcome to the WD community

Does this happen when you connect the unit directly to a computer ?

You can try to reset the unit too see if when its reset it lets you go to the dashboard. Regarding the command lets see if another user can share some tips and information for this.

Thank you for the friendly welcoming to the community…

I was under the impression the USB is was for additional HDD and you can’t connect directly to the computer directly via USB. Are you referring to connecting the computer ethernet to the mycloud’s ethernet? Could you clarify more?

BTW, the front panel LED is has a blue solid color. The DNLA server managed to servered out two images I had placed there when I was in the US, but the Samba network is not responding as well as the web admin.

I restored the default setting on the device. It managed to get the web admin back. However, it’s still not working. I think it relates to China’s firewall. It’s prevented mycloud from doing it’s things…it’s also very slow/unreponsive, it seems to be restarting something internally constantly…not sure just a wild guess.

Any suggestions?
