I have a WD 1TB external drive and since reformatting my CPU i cannot access my files on this as i now do not have the correct permissions.
The files that i want to access now have a padlock on them.
I have managed to do this before and unlock them, but for the life of me it is not working this time around.
I have tried changing various permissions and have tinkered aroubd but still no joy…

Since there’s been no replies, maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.
