Could someone please point me in the right direction as to tell thumbgen where to search for the New Friends bluray. I am trying to create a sheet for the first series but thumbgen can never find info or backdrops for episodes.

For Thumbgen to find “Friends” from the thetvdb.com you have to supply a valid file name and the correct file structure to be successful.
So for this test i created and named a file “Friends.s01e01.avi” then placed this into this structure …
C:\TV Shows\Friends\Season 1\Friends.s01.e01.avi
Then i Hit the “Process Files / Folders” button … and 20 seconds later i got this
