I have a 500gb My passport that stopped working to day. when i plug it into the pc, the light comes on and its still spinning but it doesnt show up on the pc. I opened it up and found that there was some humidity inside. My assumption is that this lead to the circuit board short circuiting.
I have read somewhere that replacing it (circuit boards) is possible but i’ve only seen it with the large externals.
Is this advisable (if possible) AND does WD supply these circuit boards because if am going to replace the circuit board I would prefer to be certain I’ve got the right replacement part.
