I have just replaced my badly crashed PC with an IMac. Just before my PC died I had done a backup of my data to a WD external drive. Now I really hope I can somehow copy my data from the WD drive onto my IMac. Can anyone please help. I have no idea how to proceed. Thanks
If you used WD Smartware to backup your data, using a Windows computer, you will not be able to restore the data using WD Smartware in a Mac, the software does not allow cross OS data restoration.
What you can do is, manually try to copy your data from your external drive to your Mac. You new Mac should be able to read your Windows formatted drive, just look for the folder named
wdsmartware.swtor
In this folder you should find ALL your data, just copy and paste your data.
