Help - fast speed if try to move forward thru commercials

I have shows on this drive recorded from a box on my TV. They work just fine, but when I watch them on my laptop - if I fast forward at all (like thru commercials), then it plays at like double speed. I have to CLOSE it and start it all over to watch correctly, then it works again.

Any idea what could fix this?!??!?!

Actually, when start it over, it keeps going slow and skippy here & there. Amazon has offered to let me return, but I’m hoping can FIX this. Is there a software update maybe? Thanks!

Whatever the issue, it’s doubtful the drive has anything to do with it.

Sounds like software issues with whatever player you’re using.
