I’m on holiday with friends, and brought my WD TV Live with me. But, in a classic ■■■■■ move, I left the remote at home. My friend has several universal remotes. Anybody have any advice or solutions for a short-term fix.

One of the first things I did was to get to have a larger remove learn the codes - but that was by IR learning.
I don’t know what frequencies it uses, perhaps WD have been using a standard system.
Many universal remotes have the ability to cycle through all code sets they know (check manual) - and if the device switches off you have found a set which is at least semi compatible - only thing you can try - unless you go back for your real remote
