Apparently there are three heat reports available on the EX4. The first is a general report of heat available on the front LCD panel. Typically this has the version number on the first line, and then a second line “Temp. XXC/XXXF”. A second is shown when you go into the dashboard and look at the Storage tab and then click the Disk Status sub-tab. Each of the drives has a line report formatted “Drive 1 2 TB 39C Good S.M.A.R.T. Data” that last being a link. If you click that link, you can get a more detailed report on the drive.
The problem is, NONE OF THESE REPORT THE SAME HEAT NUMBERS! Typically I see 45c/113F on the panel, 38C in the Disk Status, and simply CRAZY number in the S.M.A.R.T. report. Like
ID ---- Attribute ------------------ Current - Worst - Threshold
194 - Temperature_Celsius - 108 ------- 97 ----- 0
I want to believe the initial number in the Disk Status tab, because it’s mostly in spec. The other two typically are running very hot all the time, with the Current/Worst always seeming to be reversed and looking like they should be fahrenheit not celsius.
Can anyone shed some light here?
