Hdd working on hometheatre but not on laptop

hiii…
My wd passport 1tb hdd was not working on my laptop but was working on my hometheatre and tv… I use my hard drive between my lap and my hometheatre… Everything was fine when one day (one week back) i plugged in hdd into my lap and my explorer was not responding… Explorer got restarted… Even then i hdd was not detected…

My hard disk was assigned the drive path letter but when i open the disk management it says connecting to virtual drive and nothing happens as long as the hdd is connected to the lap… As soon as i remove the hdd my default c drive shows up in disk management…

I tried connecting it to another pc same thing happened… Tried it in safe mode no use… But once i performed chkdsk(check disk) function from command prompt and my hard disk got detected and it opened… I thought the problem was solved but… When i tried to copy my important files the transfer rate was 100-200 kbps and i am unable to copy the bigger file… Plz help me with the issue… Thank you

Hello,

Please make sure this drive is plugged in directly to a wall outlet, a power strip may not provide enough power for the drive to spin properly.

You can also try running a diagnostic using WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool.
