Hardware encryption ... pleassse!

Today the needs for non-OS external harddrives playable for LCDs or other media player IS HIGH.

People need a secure drive that could be locked by some hardware encryption onboard the WD external hdds, like elements, passports.

Am I wrong that now there’s wd product like this? I think I m right that no WD external drives are embedded with hardware encryption. Why is that?

Please consider this idea is a MUST for the oncoming WD products in the NEAR future.

At this moment Western Digital offers encryption on select WD Passport and WD My Book products, like the WD Passport Essential and the WD My Book Essential.
