Hard drive Noise

I have recently plugged in my hard drive and it makes some noises while copying a file. it’s not just humming or whirling alone it also sounds like a sort of grinding or electronic noise. no delays no failures, it works perfectly fine. It’s just that I do not remember such a sound so is this normal or something is broken in there?
it’s a new WD my passport portable HDD.

It’s normal for a WD My Passport to make some noise while copying files. But if it sounds like grinding or high-pitched noise, watch it closely. If everything works fine, it’s probably okay. Run a SMART check with CrystalDiskInfo and back up your data just in case. If the noise gets worse, contact WD support.
