Hard drive failure?

I have a laptop with a HGST HTS545050A7E680 internal drive, I reinstalled the operating system and everything looked good. Turn the system off and later turn it on, everything still looks good. Later on, power up and windows takes forever to load and when it comes up, it’ seems to be missing half of the files, aps, programs, and is unresponsive. System restore doesn’t work as well as resetting the computer. I’ve cleaned the drive and reinstalled the system, I also saw that there were random partitions created. I suspect that the hard drive is toast, I’ve never seen on do this. I always thought that once it died, it was dead. Any ideas?

They have a hard drive testing tool you can try, but it does seem to be playing up… Support | Western Digital
