Handbrake introduces Wow in videotrack?

I have converted 150+ DVDs/BDs with Handbrake build svn3154 without any troubles at all (except getting my workflow right). I have now encountered a DVD with a 3 hour movie, where the MKV file from Handbrake has a kind of Wow in the videotrack (for those of you who remember grammophones and tapes:-) ). The mkv movie seems to increase and slow down in speed around twice a second, and it is not a missing/duplicate frame issue. It is clear that moving objects move in a wave-like manner. Sound is fine and stays in sync

The Wow is present both when viewed with the Live and with a pc. Viewing the DVD rip has no problems, neither with the Live nor with a pc.

It is probably a Handbrake bug, but I haven’t found any hints at the Handbrake site, and build svn3505 has the same problem. I am using the High Profile preset.

Any idea to avoid this effect (i.e. which HB setting might I try to change)? Og anyone experienced the same problem?

Did you try forcing the frame rate?  (Instead of leaving “same as source”).

That’s about the only thing I can think of.

Forcing the frame rate doesn’t change anything :frowning:

Sorry – my only idea.

You might try the Handbrake forum and see what they have to say.
