GPT header corruption w USB drive plugged in

My friend purchased a Western Digital 8TB Elements Desktop Hard Drive HDD, USB 3.0, Compatible with PC, Mac, PS4 & Xbox - WDBWLG0080HBK-NESN and connected it up to their Windows10 22H2 computer on one of the computer’s USB 3.0 rear ports.

If the computer is restarted or booted up with the drive connected they see a “GPT header corruption has been detected”. If the above drive is disconnected there is no such boot up issue.
