GOPRO Hero3 : format file unknown

Hi,

I try to read on my WD TV Live some videos from my new Gopro Hero3 but it’s impossible in all format (1440p, 1080p, 720p) although the video codec used is H.264 and audio codec is AAC.

Does someone has the same problem or better, a solution for me ? I just want to watch directly the videos without re-encoding them !!

Correct.  And also that the profile is “High@L5.0”.

If ALL the videos regardless of resolution use that profile, then that will be the primary issue.

I don’t understand what is this profile/codec (AVC1 - High@L5.0) because normally it’s H.264 !?! I will check in other resolution if it’s different (i hope it !!).

The Live / Live Plus support:

MPEG2 MP@HL up to 1920x1080p24, 1920x1080i30 or 1280x720p60 resolution.

MPEG4.2 ASP@L5 up to 1280x720p30 resolution and no support for global motion compensation.

WMV9/VC-1 MP@HL up to 1280x720p60 or 1920x1080p24 resolution.

VC-1 AP@L3 up to 1920x1080i30, 1920x1080p24 or 1280x720p60 resolution.
H.264 BP@L3 up to 720x480p30 or 720x576p25 resolution.

H.264 MP@L4.1 and HP@4.1 up to 1920x1080p24, 1920x1080i30, or 1280x720p60 resolution

That’s great for my comprehension. So if i have understood, with a 1080p-24ips the codec should be H.264 4.1 and should work on my WD live TV. So i will try it this evening. I cross the fingers …
