Just noticed this is installed on my M1 iMac (latest OS)
Is it installed by and required by WD in My Cloud Home?
Asking advice before removing it, thanks.

You should not need it, if you have MCH… WD Discovery which is required does the job for syncing.
But do you have a My Cloud Home?
(It should not have been installed whatsoever in this case.)
But WD Discovery requires reduced security setting to work on Apple Silicon Macs.
