Gold with Black Disk Drive

I am looking for a new drive 4-6TB SATA III. Used as a 3rd drive in my workstation.

For last 10 years or so I do not consider another drive except WD. For SSD where my choice is Samsung Pro 2-bit MLC

Now, to my surprise I went to Newegg and looked at WD Black 6TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD6003FZBX.

I found 17% of one egg in rating this drive, which I find rather excessive. Mostly noise and thumping sounds.

Is a Gold drive any better? Is a different size better then other size in same category?

I do not want a speed sacrifice but reliability is imperative.

Can anybody please help.

Thanks, looks like perhaps WD is not a way to go.
I had number of Black 1 to 2 TB and they are very nice.

Looks like I just may bite the bullet and get SSD’s. Come to think of it I have 2 of 10TB in my NAS Raid and they are noisy, they are just greater distance away.
Thanks

Thanks, I have couple of 1TB Samsung Pros 2-bit MLC which are really nice.
I am not willing to pay the $$$ for 4TB so I may go with EVO, As you say still a good reputation.
Thanks for suggesting Toshiba, I have a look at these disk drives
