hi
is there any need for a gigabit switch if my laptop is already gigabit ethernet ready and jumbo frame disabled to speed up data transfer?
secondly
whats the maximum speed attainable if i use a gibabit switch (all device in chain gigabit enabled)?
i am currently seeing about 25MB/s, jumbo frame is disabled…anything else i can do to boost this speed?
cheers

Hello,
Where do you currently have the laptop connected? The transfer speed will depend on your network topology and the type of files that you are trying to transfer. I have seen users getting from 25 to 40MB.
Sunky,
You posted on the other topic but I guess you did not read the link provided. It is a bit old, but the concept still applies.
