Getting desperate!

Hi ,
Could anyone help please…
I have 3 WD external hard drives . My power supply cable became damaged and I tried a power supply cable from my Roberts radio . This failed to power the units. I then purchased a power supply cable direct from WD . Unfortunately this also failed to power the units.
I now have 3 external drives and I am unable to power any of them. My big worry obviously is that my data ( all Photographs ) will be lost.Could anyone help and advise how I should proceed from here. I contacted WD who would only say that they would only recommend using their own power supply cables.
Many thanks
Joe

Unless your “Roberts Radio” power supply is of the same voltage and minimum current rating, you may have damaged the controllers in each of the drives.

What model are the drives?

Many Thanks Tony,
My book essential is one of them the other two don’t show a model name . I think you may be right. If I damaged the controllers would my data still be recoverable do you think ?
Thanks again Tony,
Joe

Possibly check out the old posts by fzabkar I believe he guided some people through bypassing a burnt diode.
