Getting Content Info

I was finally able to get my folders into Media Library. For the most part, TVDB is finding all my TV shows but there are a few that it will not 'scrape. I checked TVDB online and the shows info is available so I dont understand why my HUb is failing to get the info.

The shows is named correctly just as all my other series shows and they are perfect in the sense of all info and images being correct.

Ona seperate note.

My folder structure is set up in a way that I do not see info or images until I get deep into the folders. Example.

TV SHOWS (no image - assume I can use an image, just name it correctly)

— Adventure Time (at this point no folder image or info - would like)

----- Season 1 (have poster but no info - possible to have a general SEASON info?)

-------- Episode 1 - 26 (all images and info correct)

For folder images use a jpg and name it “folder” Like this, folder.jpg
I use images resized to 200x300 for folder art. Also getting folder info is not possible unless you use something like linksheets.

If you search the form you will find all kinds of cover art and folder art for genres and other things.

I figured as much about the folder.jpg. I can do this for a generic TV show image for TV Show folder. I can also do this for each TV Show.

What I would like to do though is add info about a show and I will assume I can make an XML/NFO in the tv shows root folder?

_ FOLDERS _

TV SHOWS (generic folder.jpg image)

— Adventure Time (generic Adventure Time folder.jpg [create general show info in xml/nfo format if possible?]

No, that’s not possible using the hub the way things stand.
To achieve that, You would have to use a link sheet theme and follow the guides on how to set things up.

See this theme,
http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Hub-Themes/Simplicity-Theme-by-DeVicious/td-p/578508

It does similar to what you want using the link sheet method

I’ll work on that. Had trouble installing themes before so gave up but will take another stab I guess.

What about my first issue of some shows not being scraped?

I get nothing for the series CAMP even though TVDB site has all the info.

Files are named properly.

Give an example filename, exactly as you have it, so other people can try.

I stated the series … CAMP

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=268653&lid=7

Files are named as …

Camp - s01e01 - Pilot.mkv

Camp - s01e02 - Capture the Flag.mkv

… So on and so on

Other shows I have are named in the same manner. Only this show does not seem to want to scrape even though there is proper info on the site.

Well, all I can offer is that that is not a typical naming convention for the WDTV.

Just for comparison, try…

Camp.s01e01.mkv
Camp.s01e02.mkv
Etc.

It may not be typical but it seems to work on my other shows.

I use The Renamer to name all my shows and it uses TVDB to scrape.

Confused…

If you’re using The Renamer to scrape, then what’s the issue?

I use Renamer to rename my shows ‘correctly’ acording to what most media players will read … XBMC, PLEX, WDTV …etc. All it does is name the file.

What I am having issue with is WDTV scraper (TVDB) not getting the info on the show even though it is named properly and the TVDB website has the shows info (images, episode info)

It’s like the internal scraper is not seeing the show online to get the info.

Example.

Camp - s01e01 - Pilot.mkv / HUB does not scrape it even though info is available on TVDB

The Walking Dead - s01e01 - Days Gone Bye.mkv / HUB scrapes it perfectly fine & supplies all info (images, episode info) as is on TVDB

I’m pretty sure the WDTV doesn’t need the pointless first dash at all.

The Walking Dead S01E01 - Days Gone Bye.mkv

Maybe not but that doesn’t dispute the fact that all my files are named the same and some are not being scraped by the players internal scraper despite the fact that the info is on the scraper site (TVDB)

We’re going in circles here.

If my or Techflaws suggestions work, then all that can be said is that your naming convention doesn’t work.

The fact that it works for some shows is irrelevant – you just got lucky.

There is definately some problem at the tvdb with the series Alice from 1976. I’ve renamed the files every way I can think of and none of my scrapers can find it execpt good old thumbgen, which finds them all.

tried

Alice.S01E01.avi

Alice.S01.E01.avi

Alice.S01.E01.(Pilot).avi

Alice S01E01 (Pilot).avi

Seems like one em’ shoulda worked…

You’re right… The issue is with TVDB.

If you query their API manually, the series is not returned.

I would register on their forum and report it, but I’ll be hanged if I can figure out where to post it…

Irrelevant ? You just got lucky ?

I think not. It’s the site and/or the internal scraper.

I have 10 TV series and 1 show is having issue. I hardly call that LUCK.

I have manually done the work that the site cant do so I am good. If this means I have to do this every now and then, so be it. It’s not like it’s happening on a large amount.

My files are named just fine. 99% of my shows are found. Fact I can load the shows in Ember and have all the info instantly. So I am going to put blame on the site/WDTV for now.
