Gap In Sound MKV Files

HI all,

Question I have is that on every mkv  file i play after about 20-30 mins there is a noticeable gap in teh sound for about 1 sec and then it continues to play ok if it is a long video then it may happen again.

I have the latest firmware applied. While not a major problem it is somewhat annoying to have what feels like.a stutter then it continues.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

What program did you encode the Matroska files with and what audio is in them?  I’ve never encountered this.

Sorry for the delay been away but now i am back. This is  problem that conmes and goes. Here is some details of some of the files:-

And how are you accessing the file?

Attached USB?

Network Shares over a wired connection?

Network Shares over a wireless connection?

Media Server over a wired connection?

Media Server over a wireless connection?

If you’re accessing wirelessly, the most likely culprit is your network.  It probably can’t handle the sustained traffic.  Very few people have had 100% success with 1080p files, even with wireless-N.  Usually 720p is the highest that works 100% over wireless.

If you’re accessing wired, the most likely culprit is the server.  If something is causing the PC to pause to catch its breath periodically, it might not stream cleanly.  The bitrate is certainly low enough that you should be seeing no issues if it were wired.

Other than the number of reference frames, I don’t see anything grossly amiss with the file itself that should lead to it not playing properly.

It is attached to an external Seagate 1.5TB External Hard Drive Hi Speed USB vis usb cable. It seems to happen on all my mkv files so beginning to wonder if the the unit is faulty they mkv files are not all 1080p some are 720p?
