G-tech G-drive w/ Thundrbolt 3 Passthrough Power?

Hi,
I’m trying to buy an external hard drive to use with my Macbook Pro 2019 w/ 2 THundrbolt Ports. The problem is that I need one of the ports for my DAW w/ Logic Pro. That leaves me with on Thunderbolt port left. How can I mount an external HD if I also need that last port for power? The product, I was looking to buy was this one on Amazon:

G-Technology 6TB G-Drive with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C Desktop External Hard Drive, Silver - 0G10491,

  1. Will it provide power to my MacBook pro? How much? Some comments said that it won’t, some said that it would, so what’s the right answer? Is it because the Thunderbolt cord they provide is passive? Could I buy an active cord, and then I could get passthrough power?

  2. If there’s no way to get power to my Macbook through the G-Drive, how do I get around this? I mean what product could I buy? There must be a way to do it, or how do people use this external HD without access to ports?

thanks for any help!
