We are using the eS Pro XL purchased in 2010, and I’ve been tasked with replacing the drives in the chassis… this shipped with 12 1TB drives, but would it be safe to assume I can replace those with a dozen current SATA III enterprise-grade 2TB drives from any manufacturer?
We didn’t build them with anything other than HGST drives at the time but there is a strong possibility you would have no issue with other drives.
I would however not go over 2TB per drive just to be sure.
