G-sense raw value jumped to 65536

Hello!
I bought WD10JPLX-00MBPT0 last year and haven’t used it for a year. Recently I wanted to copy on external HDD all of my data and after that, suddenly I noticed that G-sense error rate value is extremely high. I didn’t drop my laptop or anything like that. Just intensively copied things for 2 days straight. Is my drive dead? Should I send it to repair? I wanted to use it now as my primary data drive.

Hi,

G-sense error rate does not directly indicate imminent drive failure. However degradation of this parameter can be an indicator of drive aging or potential electromechanical problem. You should pay say closer attention to other parameters and overall drive health.
