G-RAID USB 4TB upgrade question? :)

Hi everyone,
First post here

I have a 8 TB G-RAID USB that I bought about 2 years ago. I have run in in RAID 1 so only 4TB which is an issue now. My company are looking to purchase a 16bay NAS in the next couple of months so this would be an interim solution and the drives bought for this will then be used in the NAS.

A few questions…

  1. What is the largest HDD size it will take, can I fit 14TB or 16TB drives in RAID 1?
  2. I have forgotten the password for the RAID utility, is there a way to reset it or get around this?
  3. What would be the best procedure to upgrade to the new HDDs?

Thank you in advance for any assistance
Sam

  1. If it is the removable units the highest capacity used in that enclosure so far has been 10/12TB drives
  2. The password is your system password.
  3. Just upgrade them in pairs and use the software utility to create a new RAID1 if you plan to use that type of RAID.
