G-RAID 12TB running out of space

Hi all,

I might have the simplest of questions, but somehow I’m confused about the G-RAID system.

I’m a photographer and have 2 G-RAID’s 12TB configured in RAID0. One is my archive where I store my photos and where I work with them. The other one is a backup drive which is an exact copy of my archive drive. Both drives are almost out of space (only around 100GB left).

Is it common to remove the HDD’s inside and store them somewhere safe? Do I buy new HDD’s and do I put those inside? Or is it recommended to start with a completely new G-RAID unit?

Thanks!

I did some research yesterday and decided I’m going to replace the HDD’s inside with larger capacity HDD’s. I’d like to go for WD Gold Entrepise 14TB ones. Is it possible to remove the current HDD’s from their carriers and insert the new HDD’s in the carriers? Or is it necessary to buy the G-Technology HDD’s which come with a carrier? Thanks!
