G Drive wont pop up on Macbook

So my G Mobile USB was backing up on my Macbook pro. Didn’t realize my macbook was dying and so it died in the middle of the back up. Now when I plug in the drive it wont pop up on the desktop. Time machine doesn’t see the drive when I attempt to back it up. You plug it into the computer nothing happens. No light. No movement. If I hold the connector a certain way it starts to spin but still doesn’t pop up on the computer. The drive was fine right before it died while backing up. So I didn’t have to hold the connector or anything.
