I have had my G-Drive for over 8 years I believe and It has just stopped working on my Mac. When I try to plug in it makes the entire Mac slow and it does not even show up on the desktop or disk utility. What can I do to make this work again without sending it out and spending an arm and a leg?
The performance drop in the system would be due to the hardware in the unit trying to pool more resources. It could be due to the enclosure of the drive. Would suggest try swapping the drive out of that enclosure and into another to see if you can get regular access to it.
