G-Drive spinning up and down

We use lots of G-Drive HDs in our company. They spin down after few seconds not used. Then when a file must be saved it spins up and I have to wait for the commit a couple of seconds until I could proceed with my work. As you can see out of this use case this situation is very annoying since we work on large data sets which can not be placed on the MacBook Pro internal disk (Apple Silicon, Monterey).
Is there any solution to this?
Note: I’ve removed the tick in the system preferences/Battery/Power Adapter/Put HDs to sleep when possible.

Hi @bjoho,

Either the spindle motor has failed and cannot spin the platters or the board is failing.
In either case your drive is pretty much dead.
DIY tricks or apps cannot get that drive to work.
