G-Drive folders disappearing

I have a G-Drive 4TB Thunderbolt drive connected to my MAC. On occasion all the folders no longer show in Finder. In order for them to show-up again it is necessary to turn the drive off and back on which correct the problem for a bit, but it shows up again. The drive is straight out of the box and connected to the iMac with the thunderbolt cable, the port is a thunderbolt 2.

Your drive is likely disconnecting and dropping connection that is why the contents stop showing up.

Go to:

System Preferences > Energy Saver > uncheck “put hard disks to sleep when possible” and also disable sleep on your system and it should solve the issue.

Did what you recommended but did not fix problem. Sometimes I drop content or the complete drive disappears. This is the second G-Drive I have and the problem is still happening. I wonder if your product is truly reliable. I’m concerned I will loss the drive completely and what a pain it would be to rebuild.

Very dissatisfied?
