FTP connection to WD NAS (Blue light)

Hi,

Hope someone will be able to help me.

I have a problem which I cannot figure out. I am trying to connect to my NAS server via FTP, but no matter which of the IP’s I use or how I setup the ports on the router it does not work. I have searched trough all post on FTP on this site, but still I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

FTP CLient: FlashFXP.

Port: 21. I have set this port to forward as instructed on fastforward.com, but I still see the status as not forwarded, why is that?

Internal IP: 10.0.0.5

External IP: how do I find this?

Static IP: No

Can anyone figure out what I am doing wrong?

Try and set your WD HD to a static ip. This will allow the port forward to work correctly.

I apologize but the blue rings version of the MyBook World has no FTP functionality.
