Hello,
I am trying to connect a wdtv live hd player with a fritzbox 7490 using a fritz wlan stick Nv2 which is listed as being compatible. However, WDtv live is not recognized and the option to setup a wireless connection is not offered. Any ideas? Also, what would be the best alternative wifi adapter in my case? Many thanks.
Why ?
The WDTV Media Player (2014) has built in Wi-Fi … no need for a Wi-Fi stick
post your model number eg. P/N number on the back of the device
( … you’re probably posting in the wrong device forum, i suspect … )

If you actually have the Live HD, you’re in the wrong forum (this forum is for the 2014 model WD TV).
But if you have a Live HD, you need to consult this list:
http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3805/
… which does NOT list the Fritz WLAN Stick NV2 as being compatible.
Hello,
Thank you for your replies. It seems that I have indeed landed in the wrong group, as my device is older than 2014. The P/N is WDBAAPOOOONBK-01. I saw WD TV Media Player and thought that’s it, thereby overlooking the fact that you have a WD Legacy section. Sorry about that.
However, the Fritz Wlan USB Stick is indeed listed as being compatible, hence my question. It is shown as a new entry in the list Tony was referring to.
Thank you.

Neither of those is an NV2 model…
sorry for being so persistent but the stick I bought says it is a “Fritz!Wlan Stick N v2”, MAC: 24:65:11:43:58:1D
This is the stick that is not recognized. Does it mean that there is ANOTHER Nv2 stick that I should get?. Alternatively, what other stick would do the job?
Many thanks!
I don’t know how to be more clear.
These are the Fritz models that are listed:
FRITZ! WLAN USB Stick N
N is not the same thing as NV2.
AVM FRITZ! WLAN USB Stick N24
N24 is not the same thing as NV2.

Anything on that list.
Dear Tony,
I am truly sorry: I indeed misunderstood your message completely. Everything is clear now. Many thanks for your help.
