This has happened on two files that I have tried to play on my gen3 box which is using a wired connection. I am streaming from a windows share in my computer and I have tried different drives, neither of which is the boot drive and nothing else is making use of those drives. One drive is a fairly new 3tb seagate drive. The computer has a lot of processing power (i7 920) and is hooked up to the fios router which is either 100 or gigabit ethernet. Anyway, the files are 1080p mkv encoded with x264. They are both very large. One is high bitrate while the other is a long movie. I sliced off a piece of the longer movie into a 350 meg file which is about 3:30 minutes and that didn’t seem to make a difference. Based on my math, that gives a bit rate of roughly 19 megabits per minute (though the total movie average is much lower). Movies with similar average bitrates play fine at 1080p (though I haven’t tried anything else as high as 19that I can think of). I have yet to rule out that it is the connection from the computer.
