Formatting WD Passsport

I have a Passport that has been lying in a draw for years. The problem began when Microsoft changed from XP to Vista. WD did not have at the time to update the drive to work with Vista. After a dozen call to support and even paying for answers - no resolution. I know there is nothing wrong with the drive, but was discourage by WD with their answers which was we do not know.

Can the drive be formatted? Normal formatting does not work. Is there any way to write to convert the drive to  act  as a normal  USB drive? Thanks.

With all the service packs that have been added to Vista, you shouldn’t have any problem formatting the drive and using it with Vista.

What do you mean normal formatting doesn’t work?  What are you doing to “normal” format the drive?  Some steps would help.
