Hi there. Hoping for some advice.
I just purchased a new 2TB MyPassport and wanted to clear my old 1TB usb3 MyPassport entirely so I could just use it as an extra drive for my current photos (I’m a photographer). I read that I had to get the Acronis Disk Cleanser program from WD and use that. I got the program, fired it up, selected the drive and started the ‘cleansing’ process. It told me it would take 10 hours.
When I checked it 10 hours later it told me it would take 22 hours. 2 hours after that it told me it would take 3 days and tonite, approx 24 hours after starting the process it told me it would take 10 days.
I figured I better cancel that and start over so I tried to do that. I ‘exited’ the program. Then in Windows I selected the drive and double clicked it. That opened the unlock utility so I clicked on that and it tells me the drive is UNLOCKED. Ok …I start the ‘cleanser’ again and it doesn’t even recognize the drive. It just shows my C drive and and an SD card in my reader slot.
When I right click to show properties of the drive I get 0 bytes available and 24.3 MB used. So there is no visibility of the vast majority of the drive.
Any idea how I can just format this beastie to use it as a drive?
