Formatted Already?

I just installed a My Book Home Edition.  The documentation says it must be reformatted for windows.  I have W7 on my machine.  HOWEVER, the machine appears to be formatted for window already.  It shows up as ‘F’ drive and takes files in the normal manner.  Do I really need to reformat?

WANDY,

The WD My Book Home Edition is factory-formatted with the FAT32 file system, which is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7. However, I would recommend re-formatting the unit to the NTFS file system for better performance on Microsoft Windows-based systems.

Makes sense, thanks.
