Format Mycloud drive issue

I formated mycloud drive from the webpage interface. I wanted to clean out my drive and start fresh as it was full of many duplicate files. The drive was connected to my router the whole time. I now can’t see the drive on the network and the light on the front is solid red. How do I recover it from here?

First, identify if it is a gen1 or gen2 unit. (Check the serial number.)

You will need a USB flash drive, and a computer with PuTTY or some other SSH capable client, and a whole afternoon of time to spend on the task.
