Is it possible to remove all of the Smartware stuff from the drive and just make it basically a USB 2.0 attached volume? I don’t really need/want all the functionality of the Smartware, I just wanted something that works basically like a thumb drive, but with a lot more space obviously…
You can uninstall SmartWare, and hide the VCD (or just ignore it), and use the drive like any other - copy and paste, or drag and drop.
