Format My Passport SSD to use as a scratch disk for photoshop

Hi there,

My mac’s scratch disks are full, therefor I use an external hard drive for scratch disks to use my design programs such as photoshop. My current Seagate external hard drive has crashed so I can no longer use it for scratch disks for photoshop. I purchased a WD My Passport SSD, 2 TB in hopes of using it for my Scratch Disks in photoshop but its not coming up as an option, even when I push command/option while launching Photoshop. I have formatted the WD drive to exFAT as well. Any help would be much appreciated!

Does the drive mount on the Desktop? If it is you might want to check the specification for Photoshop. What is the speed connection require or call Adobe for support. One option you might want to try is format the drive as HFS+ or APFS.

Hi! Yes it does mount to desktop just fine! Works as it should, just not for photoshop! I will call adobe - great idea - thank you!
