I have a "WD My Book Elite USB 1TB " External HDD. I forgot the password and I attempt password five times. Now my HDD is locked. To disable the password, WD software direct me reformat the drive. When I do it, I will lost all my data and my HDD will restore to its original condition. I DO NOT WANT TO LOST MY DATA HOW CAN I OPEN MY HDD WITHOUT LOST MY DATA?
There’s no way to brake/bypass the hardware base encryption… ( No that I know )… Only way to use the drive once more is formatting it
