Folders suddenly read-only, and dates changed, too

I’ve been a happy EX2 Ultra owner for about a week now but suddenly I’m finding a number of my folders/directories are suddenly read-only on one of my shares. And there’s no rhyme or reason which ones have been changed. For instance, my top-level directory for one of my shares is perfectly fine. Same with 2nd level. But one of the directories at the 3rd level is now read-only while the other nine at that level are read-write as before. And all the directories inside the directory that is read-only are also fine…I can write to them as normal. I just can’t add any new files or folders at the 3rd level.

Plus, all the directories inside that affected directory have had their modification dates changed to Dec 31, 1969 at 7:00pm.

There are other directories in the file tree with the same problem but it seems to be random. There’s no pattern of recently copied, recently accessed, or anything like that.

I’m connecting to the EX2 Ultra via SMB from a Mac. I’ve tried using the normal Mac interface to change the permissions but it won’t let me make modifications to those directories.

I’ve tried rebooting the NAS, no luck. I’m having this problem from multiple Macs mounting the same share.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Suggestions?

Thank you!

I can’t answer your question, but something has set your date/time stamp to zero, ie Jan 1, 1970 midnight UTC. You are 5 hours behind, so that would put you at the same time zone as the east coast of the USA.
