This problem also occured with previous firmware’s
I spent a lot of time to find the reason why the scanning kept endless going on
Finally I found an explanation
WPL files (playlists from windows media player) contains references to music files
If these references are e.g. media src="c:\music.…mp3 the scan is endless looping because maps of your PC are not recognised
If you use UNC references media src="…\music.…mp3 the files are scanned succesfully :smiley:
Maybe the same problem occurs with .m3u files (winamp playlists)
I hope this info will be taken into consideration by WD,because I think a lot of users is confronted with this
