Firmware update keeps freezing

hey i have just purchased a my book essential 1T

and its partitioned with the GUID PARTITION TABLE

im running a fairly new mac with the latest osx 

and i tried to update the firm ware to the latest one doing everthing it says

and wat happens is the hardrive idono powers down or goes to sleep and freezes in the one spot as its updating i waited for a wile but nothing

so i donno 

id be so happy if someone could help

otherwise ill just stick with the old firmeware

Many people tried update it on PC windows machine and it works really well.

You should try that.

Does WD support Mac or not?

Does anyone have an idea on how to get this update to work with Mac?
