Recently upgraded the Firmware on My Cloud. I use the NAS for TimeMachine backups and run 2 units in parallel so that each effectively is backup of the other. For this reason I only ever update the Firmware one at a time to ensure I don’t lose data!
well, updated the firmware a while back on unit number 2. Always had stability issues with this one and needed new backups done often due to something unknown to me but otherwise been stable for some time now. So updated unit 1. It has been effectively a brick ever since. I am unable to access it at all now. I have done both reset options to no avail.
one two punch.
Now my unit 2 is rebuilding!! Why ? staring down the lose of additional data in there somewhere.
DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE IF YOU DON’T HAVE NEED.
